Thirty percent of the world’s food wasted: An estimated 1.3 billion tons of food is lost or wasted annually as 800 million people go hungry. Appropriate packaging technology is essential for preserving food from deterioration and being disposed of as waste. To extend the shelf life of food, packaging has to drastically reduce the transmission of gases from the ambient environment to the food - especially oxygen and water vapor - which are essential for spoilage microbes to thrive. Our additives are appropriate for developing advanced packaging solutions to reduce food spoilage and wastage. Our proprietary masterbatch additives show promise not only as the new standard for improved strength, enhanced barrier function, and superior antimicrobial protection. |
Biodegradable packaging promises a more sustainable future. Among the many different biopolymers used, polylactic acid (PLA) and certain starch-based biopolymers possess good mechanical properties and cost-effectiveness necessary in a biodegradable packaging. However, these biopolymers suffer from poor strength, insufficient water vapor and oxygen barrier properties, UV damage, and degradation from moisture and bacteria compared to many petroleum-derived materials.
PARI’s tArgeCide and tArgGENE enhanced packaging material overcome these drawbacks with a minimal cost increase. PARI has designed and developed a sandwich-style PLA and starch based composite film for food and non-food uses:

Introducing TiGENE: Our additive for Enhanced Polyethylene (PE), PLA, and paper non-food packaging.
TiGENE incorporated during the paper making process or in resins during film-forming considerably enhances the strength, durability, UV resistance, anti-static, and antimicrobial properties of the packaging while improving the barrier to moisture and oxidation. Electronic systems and devices can be vulnerable to being negatively by electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electromagnetic interference (EMI). Medicine and pharma packaging is held to high standards and its significance in maintaining safety and efficacy cannot be overstated. TiGENE increases the protection from external factors such as light, moisture, air, and contamination. |
